Last Time Out: The Americans opened the regular season last Saturday night in Tulsa, falling to the Oilers 5-4 at the BOK Center. The game was tied on four different occasions. Tulsa opened the scoring at the 2:10 mark of the opening frame to grab a 1-0 lead. The Americans responded quickly as Chase Coughlin scored his first professional goal 33 seconds later to even the game at 1-1. Allen would grab the lead later in the frame as Hank Crone found Miko Mattika on a two-on-one break beating Oilers netminder Tomas Suchanek, for his first goal of the season, putting Allen up 2-1. Tulsa tied the score just over two minutes later to even the game at 2-2, and that’s how the first period ended. More offense in the second frame as Sam Lipkin (1) and Mathieu De. St Phalle (1) both lit the lamp. The Oilers scored a pair as well, setting up a 4-4 game heading to the final period. Tulsa’s Zach Murray took advantage of a bad bounce and poked the puck into an open net to give the Oilers a 5-4 lead, and they would hold on for the opening night victory, in the first of 13 meetings between the two teams this season.
Back for Another Year: The Americans welcomed back nine players from the 2025-2026 squad. Forwards: Brayden Watts, Spencer Asuchak, Michael Gildon, Hank Crone, and Riley Kidney. Defensemen: Sam Sedley, Andre Anania, Quinn Warmuth and Jackson Decker. Spencer Asuchak will miss the series in Idaho this weekend
From the Affiliation: The Americans renewed their affiliation with the Ottawa Senators this season, with three players attending AHL camp in Belleville. The Senators assigned goaltender Kevin Reidler, 6-6, and 205-pounds to the Americans last weekend. He was recalled by the Senators on Friday. The native of Sweden played in two AHL games last year with Bellville. Prior to that he played one season of collegiate hockey at Penn State University. The Senators assigned forward Luke Mistelbacher to the Americans on Thursday. He played in three games last season with the Senators (0 goals and 0 assists).
