Dallas/Allen, Texas – The Allen Americans, ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Ottawa Senators, along with Head Coach and General Manager Steve Martinson, announced today that the team signed defenseman Andre Anania for the 2026-2027 season.
Andre Anania had a career high in points last year in his sophomore season of professional hockey. In 66 games with the Americans, he had 42 points (6 goals and 36 assists). That’s 31 more points than his rookie season.
He also appeared in one game last year with the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League. He will be part of an American Hockey League camp in September with the Tucson Roadrunners.
“Andre (Anania) came here last year with the reputation of being a big hitter,” noted Americans Head Coach Steve Martinson. “He also has great speed and vision. He’s the type of defenseman that our forwards love playing with, and opposing forwards hate playing against.”
The native of Richmond Hill, Ontario played three seasons in the Ontario Hockey League, all three with the Sudbury Wolves, where he averaged just over 36 points per season over the final two years of junior hockey.
The Americans open their 18th season of professional hockey this October. The team will open the home portion of the schedule on October 29th and 30th with a pair of games against the Idaho Steelheads at Comerica Center in Frisco. TICKETS!
