Dallas/Allen, Texas – The Allen Americans, ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Ottawa Senators, announced the signing of four players ahead pf the 2026-2027 season.
Chase Coughlin is a 6-foot-0 and 205-pound forward who joins the Americans for his rookie season. The Toronto, Ontario native played four seasons with the Sudbury Wolves of the Ontario Hockey League where he led his team in penalty minutes during his final season of Major Junior Hockey with 92, while finishing seventh on the team with 33 points.
Cal Uens is another rookie out of Major Junior Hockey in Canada playing last year with the Quebec Remparts (QMJHL), where he finished third on his team in scoring with 49 points in 63 games while adding 54 penalty minutes. The right-shot blueliner turned 21 in February.
Divyne Apollon appeared in two ECHL games last season with the Americans during a series in March against the South Carolina Stingrays. Apollon is known for his toughness and physical style of play. In 2024-2025 with Amarillo of the NAHL, he had 168 penalty minutes in just 20 games.
Cole Bishop is the fourth and final rookie announced today. The 6-foot-3, 225-pound left-shot forward played one season in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey league with Moncton in 2022-2023 and three seasons in the BCHL. Last year with Coquitlam he had 32 points in 51 games while adding 60 penalty minutes
“We are adding skill, physicality and toughness,” noted Americans Head Coach Steve Martinson.“Cal Uens has a lot of poise and vision. Chase (Coughlin) forechecks, hits and scores, while Divyne (Apollon) is the toughest young heavyweight in the league. Cole (Bishop) is a big strong power forward. All four are part of a freshman class that brings much toughness to our lineup.”
The Americans open training camp in less than two months. This will be their 18th season of professional hockey. The Americans have made five trips to the finals in 17 years winning four titles.
