AMERICANS CLINCH PLAYOFF SPOT WITH AN 8-5 WIN ON SCHOOL DAY IN ALLEN
Dallas/Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans, ECHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators (NHL), and Belleville Senators (AHL), played their final School Day Game of the season on Thursday morning with the Americans coming out on top 8-5 clinching a spot in the Kelly Cup Playoffs.
Danny Katic led the way with his third hat trick of the year, scoring his 32nd, 33rd and 34th goals of the season. He also had an assist collecting a four-point game. With his three goals Katic took over the ECHL lead in goals passing Idaho’s Brendan Hoffman.
Colton Hargrove scored a pair of goals for the Americans with numbers 22 and 23 of the season. His second goal of the game was the game winner for Allen.
Brayden Watts broke his scoring drought, adding a pair which led to a personal milestone collecting career goals number 99 and 100. He finished the game with four points, adding two helpers as well.
Michael Gildon also with a big day adding three assists and is now up to 47 points on the season.
