Dallas/Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans (32-21-5-0), ECHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators (NHL), and Belleville Senators (AHL), announced on Monday that defenseman Braidan Simmons-Fischer has been loaned to the Iowa Wild.
The rookie defenseman has 10 points in 40 games with the Americans this season. Prior to being loaned to Iowa, he had four points in his last four games that included a three-game point streak.
The native of White Lake Michigan played last season in the FPHL scoring nine points in 12 games with Port Huron. Prior to that, he played parts of two seasons of collegiate hockey at the University of St Thomas.
In other news the Americans released forward Avery Smith. He had one point in seven games with the Americans.
The Americans hit the road for the next two weeks starting this Friday night in Charleston opening a weekend series against the South Carolina Stingrays. The team will return home on Thursday, April 2nd against Greensboro.
