Dallas/Allen, Texas – The Allen Americans, ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Ottawa Senators, and AHL’s Belleville Senators, along with Head Coach and GM Steve Martinson announced today the team has signed defenseman Ty Prefontaine.
Ty Prefontaine joins the Americans from the University of Saskatchewan, where he played four full seasons and 12 games this year.
The 26-year-old Saskatoon, SASK native is a big blueliner at 6-foot-3 and 215-pounds. In 12 games this year he had four points.
Prior to his time in collegiate hockey, he played four full seasons in the Western Hockey League with Lethbridge. He played parts of two seasons with both Calgary and Prince Albert
