Dallas/Allen, Texas – The Allen Americans, ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Ottawa Senators, dropped the final game of the homestand to the Tulsa Oilers 5-3 on Monday afternoon in Allen.

The Oilers put the game away in the third period. Dante Sheriff’ had the go-ahead goal at the 15:16 mark of the final frame. His 10th goal of the season turned out to be the game winner. Eddie Matsushima added an empty net goal in the final minute to secure the win as the Americans dropped their third straight game.

“We didn’t work hard enough today to get the win,” noted Americans Head Coach Chad Costello. “We also had some tough calls go against us. We’re not happy with the way we are playing right now and need to fix it quickly.”  

Tarun Fizer, Jordan-Ty Fournier and Colby McAuley scored for the Americans. For Fizer, it was his second goal in as many games.

The Americans are off until January 24th when they open a series against the Kansas City Mavericks in KC.
