Dallas/Allen, Texas – The Allen Americans, ECHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators (NHL) and Belleville Senators (AHL), along with partner Globe Life are proud to announce the club has signed forward Matt Marcinew to a contract for the 2023-2024 season.
Matt Marcinew joins the Americans after playing last season with the Rapid City Rush. He led Rapid City in scoring with 68 points (30 goals and 38 assists).
The former University of Denver product turned 30-years old on October 7th. This is his fifth ECHL team. In addition to Rapid City, he played with the Manchester Monarchs for two seasons (17-19), and one season in Greenville in 19-20 where he had 34 points in 46 games. The Calgary native appeared in 57 games with the Indy Fuel in the 20-21 season and finished with 48 points (23 goals and 25 assists).
“I’m excited to join the Americans,” said Marcinew. “As a free agent with many options, I wanted to go to a place with a winning culture and a place that plays a fast-paced style of hockey that I can produce and score goals. Under Head Coach Chad Costello, we plan on doing just that.”
The Americans play the Tulsa Oilers, this Friday night at NYTEX Sports Centre in North Richland Hills. Game time is 7:30 PM. Click HERE for tickets.
