Hayden Lavigne made the start for the Americans that night suffering the loss. He stopped 34-of-37 shots on net. Rapid City outshot the Americans 17-to4 in the first period. 2021 Postseason: The Allen Americans finished with the top record in the Mountain Division last season and went as far as the Western Conference Finals. The Americans dropped a Best-of-Five series to the Fort Wayne Komets 3- 1, losing three straight games in the series. It was the furthest the team had gone in a playoff year since going to the Kelly Cup Finals in 2016.

Costello Finishes Strong: Chad Costello finished the regular season with a four-point night against the Iowa Heartlanders last Saturday night. Costello finished sixth overall in the scoring race with 72 points. It was his first season with the Americans that he didn’t finish with over 100 points.

Familiar Playoff Foe: The Americans and Rush are no strangers to a postseason matchup. The Americans eliminated Rapid City in the 2015 playoffs 4-2.
