ALLEN POLICE SHUTOUT ALLEN FIRE 7-0
ALLEN, TEXAS — The 13th annual Allen Americans Police vs. Fire charity hockey game presented by My Community Credit Union took place at the CUTX event Center in Allen, Texas on Saturday, February 18th, with the Allen Police Department coming out on top 7-0.
Before puck drop a member from the fire department and police station both repelled from the rafters of the rink, showcasing their skills, and after the game both teams got together to take a picture at center ice.
The Allen Police dominated the first period, getting 17 shots on goal in favor of the Fire Departments 4. Officer Landry Jackson scored the lone goal for the Police in the first period, assisted by Lt. Jimmie Douglas.
The second period brought some physicality with both teams laying some big hits, but the Police were in full control as they scored not once, but twice more. Corporal David Upvall got the team going with their second goal of the game, assisted by Andrew Heintz and Andrew Mahar. To finish out the period Jared Refro lit the lamp, assisted by Sargent Matt Koehrsen. The Fire Department had some great scoring chances in the second and third periods but couldn’t capitalize on those opportunities.
The Police were on a roll with Mahar notching a goal assisted by Christopher Wasserman to get going in the third period. Sean Fourcand added another to the tally for the Police squad, assisted by Upvall. Heintz got a goal on the board assisted by Fourcand, and Koehrsen scored the final goal of the game, assisted by Brett Anderson to make the score 7-0.
The three stars of the game were Matt Koehrsen with the third star, Andrew Heintz with the second, and the first star of the game was David Upvall.
