Rush Blanked by Parsons: The Americans shutout the Rapid City Rush on Friday night led by a 34-save shutout by Jackson Parsons. Parsons stopped all 18 shots he faced in the third period including several big saves in the final two minutes. After a scoreless opening period, the Americans put two goals on the board in the middle frame. Sam Sedley opened the scoring with his sixth goal of the season. His goal would be the eventual game winner for Allen. Then eight minutes later the Americans scored their second shorthanded goal of the season. Colby McAuley beat Connor Murphy to give Allen a 2-0 lead. Spencer Asuchak added a power play goal in the final stanza to put the game away. The Americans' second win in a row after ending their three-game losing streak on Friday.
How they match up this season: The Americans have won six of the eight games in the season series against the Rapid City Rush including four straight games. The Americans are 4-0-1 at CUTX Event Center this season against their longtime rival from South Dakota.
