Dallas, Allen, Texas – The Allen Americans, ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Ottawa Senators, shut out the Rapid City Rush 3-0 on Saturday night at CUTX Event Center in front of a packed house of 6,144 fans.
After a scoreless opening period, Sam Sedley (6), opened the scoring with an even strength goal. His goal would turn out to be the eventual game winner. Colby McAuley (15) added another before the period came to an end. The second shorthanded goal of the year. The first shorty since November. Both shorthanded goals this season have come against Rapid City.
Spencer Asuchak (10) connected on a power play goal in the third period. Harrison Blaisdell and Brayden Watts had assists on the goal. Watts finished the night with two points.
The Americans went 1-for-3 on the power play holding Rapid City without a power play goal. The Rush went 0-f0r-4 with the man advantage.
The Americans outshot Rapid City 42-34. Colby McAuley led the Americans in shots on net with six.
