Americans Lose Tight Game: The Allen Americans dropped a 3-1 contest on Wednesday night in Boise, in a game that was much closer than the final score. The Americans came out firing pucks on net early, controlling much of the opening period until a late goal gave Idaho the 1-0 lead. Kaleb Pearson scored unassisted at the 18:21 mark for his first goal of the night. The Americans evened the game in the second period with a power play goal as Michael Gildon deflected home a Sam Sedley shot for his fourth goal of the year. The Steelheads would score what turned out to be the game winner at the 5:46 mark of the third period. Idaho's Jaden Shields shot hit the glove of Marco Costantini and dropped in behind the goalie, giving Francesco Arcuri the opportunity to put the loose puck into the net giving Idaho a 2-1 lead. The Steelheads added an empty net goal late to secure the win.
New Goalie Arrives in Boise: The Americans traded for goalie David Tendeck from the Florida Everblades on Tuesday. Tendeck served as the backup netminder on Wednesday night. He is expected to make his Americans debut this weekend. Tendeck was 1-1 with the Florida Everblades this season with a 0.965 save percentage.
Costantini Another Solid Outing: Marco Costantini stopped 33 of 35 shots on Wednesday night in Idaho. Costantini has started nine straight games for the Americans and has solid numbers with a 2.89 GAA and a 0.919 SV%.
Gildon Power Play Leader: With his power play goal on Wednesday night in Idaho, Michael Gildon became the Americans power play goal leader with two this season. Gildon is second overall on the team this year in goals scored with four.
From the Affiliation: The Belleville Senators enter tonight’s game in Laval with a season-high four-game winning streak. Americans goalie and Senators prospect Jackson Parsons led the way in Wednesday’s 4-0 win over Toronto. Parsons stopped all 25 shots to earn his first American Hockey League shutout. Danny Katic and Mark Duarte both saw action on Wednesday. Both had one shot on goal. Former Allen Americans forward Philippe Daoust had an assist in the win.
