Dallas/Allen, Texas – The Allen Americans, ECHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators (NHL), and Belleville Senators (AHL), dropped a 5-1 decision to the Tulsa Oilers on Friday night at the BOK Center in front of a crowd of 5,342.
The Oilers scored two goals in the first period, two in the second period and one in the third frame handing the Americans their fourth loss in their last five games.
“It’s frustrating,” said Americans Head Coach Chad Costello. “We are giving up way too many shots and goals. 16 goals over our last three games is not going to get it done.
The only Allen goal came off the stick of Captain Colton Hargrove, his third goal of the year at the 7:04 mark of the final frame. Colby McAuley and Slava Demin assisted on the Allen goal.
The Oilers outshot the Americans by 20 shots 49-29. The 49 shots were the most given up by the Americans this season. Goalie Chase Perry made 44 saves, suffering the loss.
The Americans continue their three=game road trip next Tuesday morning in Kansas City. The Americans return home next weekend for a three-game homestand against the Kansas City Mavericks.
