Game Day Preview: Americans looks to avoid sweep

Boise, Idaho – The Allen Americans, ECHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators (NHL), and Belleville Senators (AHL), play the final game of a three-game series tonight in Boise against the Idaho Steelheads. The Americans dropped a 5-1 decision on Friday night. The Americans are 2-3-0 on the six-game road trip. Allen returns home next weekend to face Rapid City

Last Game: The Americans dropped their second straight game, losing to the Idaho Steelheads 5-1 on Friday night in Boise. Two goals in the first period, one in the second, and two in the third, paced the way for an Idaho win. Former Americans forward Zane Franklin, had two goals against his former team (3rd, and 4th). Colton Hargrove had the lone goal for Allen, his 3rd of the season. Idaho outshot the Americans 41-29. The Americans went o-for4 on the power play, while Idaho went 1-for-4. Idaho leads the season series 2-0.

Americans trade for goalie: The Allen Americans traded for goaltender Eric Dop on Thanksgiving Day. Dop is set to make his Americans debut tonight. He played one season of college hockey at Boston College, and four at Bowling Green University. With Logan Flodell still in the American Hockey League, Allen has played with an EBUG backing up Luke Peressini in four of the five games on the road trip.

Jack Combs streak snapped Americans forward Jack Combs saw his five-game point streak come to an end on Friday night in Boise. The St Louis born forward had a six-game point streak to start the season. Combs leads the team in points this season with 17, and goals with eight.

Americans acquire forward from Norfolk: The Allen Americans have made a second trade with the Norfolk Admirals in less than a week. After trading for Joe Widmar last week, the Americans traded for forward Aidan Brown on Friday. Brown will join the team in Allen on Monday, and make his Americans debut next weekend against Rapid City.

Massicotte recalled by Ottawa: Ottawa Senators prospect Zach Massicotte was recalled by Ottawa on Thanksgiving Day and assigned to AHL affiliate Belleville.
