Moline, Illinois – The Allen Americans and Quad City Mallards meet again tonight in the Quad Cities with Allen looking for revenge after last night’s heartbreaking 3-2 loss to the Mallards.
Allen gave up two third period goals last night, both to Kevin Baker, who now has five against Allen in the season series.
“We have to play better in our own end tonight,” said Americans forward Gary Steffes. “We have always responded after a tough loss and I expect no different tonight.”
Steffes scored his league leading 38th of the season last night in the loss for Allen. Steffes now has three goals in his last two games. Gary played in his 300th professional game last night.
The season series is even at two games a each, with tonight’s contest being the last regular season game between the two clubs, so to sum it up, both teams will be pushing hard for the victory.
Steve Martinson said last week he would continue using a goalie rotation now that J.P. Anderson is here, and if that plan remains the same, Anderson should be between the pipes tonight for Allen. Puck drop is at 7:05 pm.
The Americans return home for back to back games on Tuesday March 17th, and Wednesday March 18th against the Wichita Thunder. Call (972) 912-1000 for tickets.
