A former member of the Allen Americans back in the 2017-18 season, forward Tyler Poulsen rejoins the team following a stint with the Worcester Railers (ECHL).

The Arvada, CO native skated for four teams in five seasons during his junior career in the North American Hockey League. In his first 67 games in the league, Poulsen suited up for the Kenai River Brown Bears and the Aberdeen Wings, scoring 46 points (22G, 24A). After beginning the 2011-12 season with the Wings, Poulsen was acquired by the Odessa Jackalopes. In his last three seasons with the Jackalopes and the Topeka Roadrunners, Poulsen played in 166 contests and tallied 127 points (59G, 68A). In his final season in Topeka, Poulsen earned NAHL First All-Star Team honors.

Poulsen played his next three seasons with the University of Alabama-Huntsville starting in 2015. He made 88 appearances with the Chargers, recording 38 points (15G, 23A). His best season came in his last with UAH, where he scored 9 goals and 17 assists (26 points) in 35 games.

The right winger made his professional debut with the Americans after the conclusion of his time in college. After a two-game stint in Allen where he scored a goal, Poulsen signed with the Rapid City Rush, where he remained for nearly two full seasons. Through 103 games, he compiled 50 points (25G, 25A). After playing 46 games of the 2019-20 season with the Rush, Poulsen was acquired by the Worcester Railers, where he played the final 10 games of the season, scoring four goals and a helper. Poulsen did not play in the 2020-21 season, but started as a member of the Railers for the first two games of the 2021-22 season.

This will be Poulsen’s fourth professional season and second with the Americans.
