When the puck drops in December for the start of 2020-21 season, it will mark the beginning of forward Spencer Asucak’s eighth season with the Allen Americans.
The Americans Longest tenured player made his pro debut in the 2011-12 season with the ECHL Ontario Reign. Before he ever made his pro debut, he spent four seasons in the WHL, splitting time between the Tri-City Americans and the Prince George Cougars. The next season he made his pro debut with the Reign.
Not only was Asuchak an Iron Man in his first season with the Americans’ but he racked up a total of 56 points (21G, 35A), quickly making a name for himself. He would play in 17 games, helping the team win the 2014 President Cup Championship.
On November 26th, 2018, he passed Allen American great Chad Costello for the Most Games played in an Americans’ uniform and became the all time leading goal scorer a season later. During the 2020 offseason, Asucak got engaged to his longtime girlfriend.
Asuchak has played in 349 games in an Americans uniform totaling 273 points (102G, 171A). He owns just about every Americans regular season record including the most short-handed goals in a season which came in 2013-14.
General Manager/Head Coach Martinson has named Spencer as a co-captain for the upcoming season.
