The 6-foot-4 defenseman is entering his first professional season in the ECHL with the Americans. 

Prior to joining the Americans this season, he spent 5 years in the WHL with the Prince George Cougars and then most recently at the University of Saskatchewan (USports) where he spent 2 years. In those 5 seasons with the Cougars, Ruopp played in 258 games totaling 91 points (16G, 75A). While in the WHL with the Cougars, he served as the team’s captain for three seasons (2014-2017). 

The Regina, SK native, was a 5th round draft pick of the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. 

Ruopp played three games with the Balgonie Bisons (QVHL) before being signed by Head Coach and GM Steve Martinson. He scored his first professional goal against the Tulsa Oilers on May 9th in the AMERICANS win! 

FUN FACT:  He is the younger brother of former AMERICANS defenseman Harrison Ruopp.
