A left winger out of Fort Frances, Ontario, Jared Bethune begins his third season with the Allen Americans. 

Bethune played five seasons in the juniors before making his professional debut. In 2013-14, he played in the United States Hockey League for the Lincoln Stars. He made 9 appearances and scored five points (2G, 3A) in two seasons. After skating in three games for the Stars in 2014, Bethune traveled to British Columbia to play for the Prince George Cougars in the Western Hockey League. In four seasons, he played in 291 games, logging 179 points (68G, 111A). 

The southpaw made his first stint with the Americans during the 2017-18 season. In 9 appearances, he logged 5 helpers.

For the next two seasons, Bethune played in the collegiate ranks for Queens University in Kingston, Ontario. In 52 appearances, he recorded 33 points (12G, 21A). 

Bethune returned to the pros in 2020-21, starting for the Macon Mayhem in the Southern Professional Hockey League. He skated in 27 games and scored 9 points (5G, 4A) before returning to the Americans towards the end of the season. 

2021-22 will be the 24-year-old’s third professional season, and third with the Americans.
