Braylon Shmyr is entering his third season with the Allen Americans after being traded to Norfolk prior to the start of the 2019-20 season. Last season Shmyr played for three teams; two in the ECHL Norfolk and Jacksonville and the Guildford Flames in the EIHL.
He spent six seasons in the WHL splitting his time between the Brandon Wheat Kings and the Saskatoon Blades. His best season in the WHL came in 2017-19 when he tallied 88 points (37G,51A) in 72 games played. With the Allen Americans, Shmyr has played in 73 games and tallied 48 points (22G, 26A).
Shmyr recorded his first pro hat trick with the Americans on October 19th, 2018 on the road against the Wichita Thunder.
