It’s October and there is no hockey season starting this month… but don’t fret, the Allen Americans will be back on the ice soon.  

Over the last month I have been on several calls with our ECHL Board of Governors and the League’s Scheduling Committee, sharing information and reviewing options as we work with the PHPA and the variable needs of the 26 teams, covering 20 states and 2 provinces.  It’s a bit of a task in dealing with all of the various challenges but we are making progress.  It’s my hope that we will have some news coming up in the first part of October about a firm start date, which will then lead to a new schedule being shared soon thereafter.  The 2020-21 Season will be unique, and it’s a campaign that we are all eager to get started. We all owe a great deal of gratitude to ECHL Commissioner Ryan Crelin, ECHL Board President Brent Thiessen of Kansas City, and to our Governor and Team Owner, Jack Gulati, for pushing forward with an aggressive plan to get back to hockey.  These individuals and many others are united in their passion to bring hockey back to the fans.

When the Americans do return to the ice, please keep in mind that we will be going  100% digital with ticketing for the 2020-21 season.  As Season Ticket Members you will all be receiving emails soon outlining how you will be updating your Allen Americans Ticketmaster Account, and with that you will also receive a tutorial on how to engage our digital tickets.  There is no option for paper tickets, so please take 5-10 minutes and get up to speed on this process.  To make sure that you are set we will also be calling every season ticket member in October to check in on your progress. Later this month we will also begin a Season Ticket Member Seat Selection Process to choose seats from the 40% of  seating that is open to us while operating under State of Texas / City of Allen COVID-19 restrictions & special distancing guidelines.  Our process is based on two (2) basic criteria:  

  1. Level of Plan
    1. Full Season Season Ticket Members 
    2. Half Season Season Ticket Members 
    3. Partials
  2. Seating Tier
    1. Glass Seats
      1. Date of 2020-21 Renewal Order
    2. Center Ice
      1. Date of 2020-21 Renewal Order
    3. Preferred 
      1. Date of 2020-21 Renewal Order
    4. Offensive Terrace
      1. Date of 2020-21 Renewal Order
    5. Defensive Terrace
      1. Date of 2020-21 Renewal Order

 

Fans will be provided a date and window of time to make their online selections for their COVID SEATS.  These seat locations will be in effect until further notice from the State of Texas and the City of Allen.  

At the conclusion of this process every season ticket member will receive the following

  1. 2020-21 COVID SEAT LOCATION
  2. 2020-21 ORIGINAL SEAT LOCATION

This information will be transmitted via email, which will be read-receipt tracked. It was great seeing many of you at our event on September 29 as we relived the 2015 ECHL Championship.  Our next Season Ticket Member Monthly Event is scheduled for 7 pm, Wednesday, October 28th, again, at the IPIC Theater in the Fairview Town Center.  Looking back to our most recent ECHL Title from 2016 will be the focus of the event, which is FREE to all Season Ticket Members who did not attend our September 29th event.
