If you are a regular reader of the Allen Americans Blog you may know about two years ago I started writing a daily post on Facebook (ECHL Stats & Information) and Twitter (@ECHLStats) where I cover all kinds of stats on players and teams along with other tidbits of information. Many times as I am researching the information for my daily league wide post I am drawn to the same information for the Allen Americans. I have decided to start posting on Thursday, “Allen Americans Stats and Information” here on the Allen Americans website. It will be short and cover a couple of stats about the team or players that I hope you will find interesting. If there is a stat you would like me to post just let me know.

I want to cover two topics in this inaugural Allen Americans Stats and Information post. One about Chad Costello who in three years with the Americans set records that will never be broken. The other topic is about defensemen who never seem to get the credit they deserve.

– Chad Costello: How good was Chad in the three seasons (2014-15 to 2016-17) he played for the Allen Americans? Here are just a few of his accomplishments:

3 – ECHL scoring championships
3 – MVP Awards (2 ECHL, 1 PHPA)
3 – ECHL First All-Star team selections
2 – Kelly Cups
1 – Kelly Cup playoff MVP
0 – Games missed (regular season & playoffs) in three seasons

– In the history of the Allen Americans there have been just eight defensemen that have played in more than 150 games when you combine regular season and playoffs. Here is the all time games played list for defensemen with years played in parenthesis:

308 – Tyler Ludwig (2011-2015)
277 – Mike Berube (2010-2014)
258 – David Makowski (2015-2019)
223 – Joel Chouinard (2016-2019)
213 – Mike Gunn (2015-2019)
211 – Trevor Ludwig (2011-2015)
211 – Eric Roy (2015-2019)
187 – Aaron Gens (2014-2017)
