Allen, Texas – The Allen Americans, ECHL affiliate of the San Jose Sharks, along with partner Globe Life announced today that the club has signed forward Tanner Eberle for the 2017-2018 season.

Tanner Eberle played in 58 games for the Americans last season, adding 25 points (10 goals and 15 assists) with 108 penalty minutes. The 23-year old native of Regina, SASK, begins his fourth year as a professional this October. He returned to Allen last year, after playing in five games with the Americans in 2014-2015.

“I’m really happy to be back with Allen for another season,” said Eberle. “It’s a great place to play. We have the best fans in the league and I know Coach Martinson will put together another great team. I was excited to see that we’ve already signed a few of our key guys. Losing in the second round is unacceptable in Allen.  After the way our season ended last year, I believe we’re ready make another long playoff run in 2018. I’m looking forward to getting back to Texas later this summer”

Eberle played five years of major junior hockey with the Moose Jaw Warriors of the Western Hockey League from 2010 through 2014, where he was a former teammate of Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman, Morgan Riley. He had back to back 50+ point seasons with Moose Jaw in both 2013 and 2014 before turning pro.

The Americans open the regular season on Friday, October 13th in Rapid City, with the home opener on Saturday, October 21st against Orlando. Click here for the complete 2017-2018 schedule.
