ALLEN, TX, October 27, 2021 – The Allen AMERICANS Professional Hockey Club, “AA” affiliate of the Seattle Kraken, announced that in the opening weekend of Season XIII, its philanthropic nonprofit the Red Lamp Foundation successfully collected 700 pounds in food donations to support All Community Outreach, an organization whose mission is to help our neighbors in Allen and surrounding communities to prevent hunger and homelessness while working toward financial stability.

Additionally, the AMERICANS formally signed Special Olympics multi-medalist and the team’s biggest fan as an official player for day on October 24, including a signed contract with Head Coach Steve Martinson and team President and Governor Mike Waddell. Rachel was also recognized on-ice and participated in a ceremonial puck drop before the AMERICANS second weekend matchup against the Wichita Thunder.

“It was an exciting and successful weekend for the Red Lamp Foundation. Many nonprofits were in attendance thanks to our Pass the Puck Program and the generosity of so many donors,” said Ana Gonzalez, Director of Social Impact for the AMERICANS. “We are excited for the remaining games because of the opportunity to continue giving back to our north Texas community.”

“We couldn’t be prouder of the momentum that the Red Lamp Foundation has built in the North Texas Community since its relaunch in August,” said Mike Waddell, President | Governor of the AMERICANS. “Ana has a clear vision for the foundation, and that vision is already making strides. Our plan for #SeasonXIII is to make ice hockey and giving integral, and the impact that AMERICANS Fans will have on our partner organizations is substantial. That’s great for everyone who lives where we play.”

The AMERICANS continue their championship campaign in #SeasonXIII on October 30 (7:05 p.m.) and October 31 (2:05 p.m.), facing off against the Utah Grizzlies. For tickets, visit Allenamericans.com/tickets or call 972-912-1000.
