ALLEN, TX, October 12, 2021 – The Allen AMERICANS Professional Hockey Club, ECHL affiliate of the Seattle Kraken, has announced the launch of a new ice hockey event for the region, The AMERICANS COLLEGE CLASSIC starting in November 2021, featuring collegiate club hockey programs from Texas Christian University (TCU), Southern Methodist University (SMU), the University of North Texas (UNT), and Dallas Baptist University (DBU).

“We’re excited to host this multi-game event in our 13th season of professional hockey in Collin County” said AMERICANS President | Governor Mike Waddell. “Part of our mission as an organization is to grow the game of hockey here in North Texas, and we are excited to partner with DBU, UNT, TCU and SMU’s club programs in what we hope is the first of many years of the College Classic.”

The inaugural event is presented, in part, by FAST SIGNS PLANO, which is owned by former AMERICANS Defenseman Nolan Descoteaux who played four seasons of college hockey at Rochester Institute of Technology from 2010 to 2014.

Game #2 is set for Sunday, January 30, 2022, when SMU faces North Texas at 10:30 a.m. CT prior to the AMERICANS’ home game against the Newfoundland Growlers.
