Allen, Texas – The Allen Americans, ECHL affiliate of the San Jose Sharks, open a weekend 3-game series against the Tulsa Oilers, with the first two games in Tulsa. Puck drop tonight from BOK Center is 7:05 PM.
The Americans and Oilers are now division rivals once again, after the Oilers joined Allen in the Mountain Division this season. This will be the first of 12 meetings between the two clubs. Allen is off to a good start at 3-0-1, picking up points in every game this season. The Americans remain perfect in regulation this season, with the only blemish on the schedule coming last Sunday in a 4-3 overtime loss to the Orlando Solar Bears.
“Our offence has been good five-on-five this season,” said Americans Head Coach Steve Martinson. “The only thing that has been slow starting so far is the power play and that has been better the last two games with three power play goals scored.”
Allen will welcome a couple of new players to the lineup tonight with the debut of forward Connor Reilly and goalie Jeremy Brodeur. Reilly is a free agent who signed with the Americans on Thursday. Jeremy Brodeur, son of former NHL great Martin Brodeur, was signed on Wednesday and will try to help fill the void while Riley Gill is out with an upper body injury.
Allen will also be without defenseman David Makowski, who begins his four game suspension tonight against Tulsa and will be eligible to return following the game against Utah next Wednesday.
The two clubs will face off tonight and tomorrow night in Tulsa, with both clubs headed to Allen for a Sunday afternoon affair at 4:05 PM. Sunday will also be the Americans Halloween game and will feature the team wearing specialty Halloween jerseys that day. Fans can bid on the jerseys through the team’s new auction site at bidpal.net/goamericans.
The team will also have a full squad skate following the game, so be sure to wear a costume and enjoy. Tickets for Sunday’s game against Tulsa, and Wednesday’s game against Utah are on sale NOW at www.allenamericans.com or call 972-912-1000.

About the Americans
The Allen Americans play in the ECHL, the premiere AA hockey league in North America. The Americans were established in 2009 and have won four AA championships in eight full seasons of minor pro hockey. In those eight seasons, Allen has qualified for the playoffs every year with five trips to the league finals. Allen will enter its fourth season in the ECHL this October, after playing five years in the now defunct Central Hockey League.
