AMERICANS ANNOUNCE 2017-2018 ECHL REGULAR SEASON SCHEDULE

Allen, Texas – The Allen Americans and the ECHL announced their 2017-2018 regular season schedule, which will have the Americans opening on the road against a familiar foe.
The Americans will open the season against the Rapid City Rush on the road, on Friday, October 13th and Saturday, October 14th. The Americans will have their home opening weekend the following weekend on Saturday, October 21st and Sunday October 22nd against the Orlando Solar Bears, who will be making their first ever visit to Allen Event Center.
Other big home dates include the pre-Halloween game on Sunday, October 29th against Tulsa. Allen will also be home right before and after Christmas, with Tulsa returning on Saturday, December 23rd, and then a Wednesday, December 27th match-up against the Wichita Thunder.
The Americans close out 2017 with the traditional New Years Eve Game on Sunday, December 31st again, against the rival Thunder.
Back for a 9th season in a row is the annual MLK Kids Day Game on Monday, January 15th against the Tulsa Oilers.
There are just four home games in the month of February, both against a division rival. The Colorado Eagles visit Allen on February 1st and 2nd and the Utah Grizzlies come to town on February 16th and 17th.
The Americans will be on the road during the Thanksgiving Holiday for the 9th straight season with games in Idaho on November 22nd, 23rd, and 24th.
The club will travel to Georgia and Florida in February for a four-game road trip that will start in Atlanta on February 6th and close in Jacksonville on February 11th.
The longest road trip of the season will come in March when the team will embark on an 11-day, 6-game road trip which starts in Idaho on March 7th and concludes in Colorado on March 18th.
For the first time in a long time, the Americans will close out the regular season at home on April 6th and 7th against the Idaho Steelheads.
The Americans will play the most home games in the months of December and March, with 8 home games both months. The club will have the majority of their home games on the weekends with 11 Saturdays, 10 Fridays and 5 Sunday afternoon games.
